Beginner Day Campers learn
horsemanship skills
Our first official day camp of the summer was a big success, with six enthusiastic youngsters participating in the two-day
program. Activities included learning the parts of the horse, learning colors and markings, discussing and practicing
safety around horses, and mounted lessons. Campers teamed up to groom their horses, clean tack and give baths to
Ricky and Dotz.
Our camp also featured demonstrations by our farrier, who answered lots of questions about hoof care, and a visit from
our veterinarian who came to check on Lux and Timer.
During lunch breaks, we enjoyed watching horse videos, then playing in the arena. Some of these kids jump as well as
our horses! All-in-all, we had a terrific time and look forward to the upcoming programs this summer. To check the
