Campers learn about
equine massage therapy
On Monday, August 23rd, our
campers enjoyed a demonstration of
equine massage therapy presented
by Cindy McVey of Happy Mare Equine
Sports Massage Therapy. Cindy
explained to the campers the benefits
of massage therapy and showed
them some techniques they could
use on their own horses. Lux, who
has been recovering from EPM,
thoroughly enjoyed being the
recipient of the massage, and we
believe he'll be getting in line for more
sessions in the future.
Along with the massage
demonstration, the campers learned
to clean tack, assemble bridles, and
to clip, bathe and wrap legs. Along
with riding lessons in the arena, we
also took a trail ride through the
woods. Everyone enjoyed their time at
the barn, and we look forward to our
next day camp to be held this fall.
