Nine attend Jingle Bell Camp '04
The weather was brisk, but our campers bundled up and
enjoyed a fun day with the horses. They did a terrific job in our
grooming contest, splitting up into teams and taking turns being
grooms and then judges. They got the horses so clean that it
was hard to determine the winners! In addition to the grooming
contest, we discussed proper tack cleaning techniques, different
markings on horses, and of course, we rode. In between
projects, and warm-ups by the heaters in the tack room,
campers helped fill water buckets and hay racks and made sure
the barn floor was swept clean. They were a wonderful group to
have with us on a chilly Monday, and the time flew by. We look
forward to seeing their smiling faces at their lessons this month!

Cold weather ushers in
Thanksgiving Camp
It was a frosty morning, but our campers arrived with rosy cheeks and
smiling faces, prepared for a day of fun at the barn. First order of
business was trying to find Lux under layers of caked on mud, left over
from his playing in the pasture the day before. The group was equal to
the challenge, and after an hour of currying, brushing, spraying and
buffing, he looked like the gorgeous boy we've always suspected. See
the picture at right for the results of all of their hard work.
Other activities included riding (of course), helping Gale muck out
stalls, cleaning tack and watching a
Saddle Club video during lunch. It
was a good day, and we were delighted to have such a fun group of
kids to enjoy themselves at the barn. (And we stayed so busy that no
one even minded the cold!) Click
