Delight jumps his first bank jump at Stonewood Farms'
cross-country schooling day
On Saturday, November 4th, Stonewood Farms in Dover, hosted
a cross-country schooling day, giving us the opportunity to take
our horses over a variety of inviting jumps in the ring, outside
course and cross-country course.
Holly and her husband Randy have been working hard to build a
host of lovely jumps around the property, and for the event they
had them colorfully decorated for fall.
After warming up in the ring, Delight schooled around the outside
course, and Holly coached us on how to handle the bank jump.
This was our first attempt, and after getting over the initial jitters,
we learned that it was really fun!
We then continued to the cross-country course, where we
enjoyed meandering through the falling leaves, popping over
several of the natural-looking obstacles along the way. It was a
great day to be outdoors with our horses, and we look forward to
going over to Stonewood Farms for some more
confidence-building sessons with Holly.
After warming up in the ring, Delight continued to the
outside course, where he had his first experience with a
bank jump...such a brave little horse! (click on pictures to
