On Saturday, May 6th, eight Harvest View riders teamed up for the annual Hunt Cap Paper Chase held at beautiful South Branch
Farms in York. Picture-perfect riding weather made for a fantastic ride over the nearly eight-mile course that criss-crossed the
farms. More than 130 horses competed in the ride, and several first-time cross-country participants got a taste of some
challenging riding that included six water crossing, along with some extremely steep climbs and precarious slides down narrow
trails. Both of our teams rode in flat divisions that allowed us to pick and choose some inviting jumps along the way.
Our A-Team members were Billy and Calvin, Michelle and Zombie and Kelly and Ricky. Cindy and Delight headed up the B-Team
of Eric and Easy, Anna and Dotz, Lexi and Nosey and Lauren on James, and came home with fifth place honors in this optimum
time event.
After the ride, we joined with friends from the Beaufort Hunt and enjoyed a pot-luck tailgate, including plenty of treats for our
hard-working horses. Thank you to South Branch farms for hosting this event, and congratulations to all of our riders, parents
